Hollie Choi Named New President and CEO of OTT.X

Hollie Choi has been appointed as the new president and CEO of OTT.X, the leading streaming trade association, according to an internal memo from board chair Cameron Douglas.

Choi, who has served as executive director of the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR) for the past three years, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the role. With a strong background in supply chain automation, metadata governance, and digital asset management systems, Choi is a strategic advocate for streamlining workflows and improving efficiency in the streaming industry.

After a thorough and comprehensive search, the OTT.X board selected Choi to lead the organization. With her proven track record of driving strategic growth and her focus on adding value and fostering relationships, Choi was the clear choice for the position.

Prior to joining EIDR, Choi held executive positions at The Walt Disney Co. and 20th Century Fox, where she was responsible for intellectual property and metadata management. Her role included standard EIDR registration for all content, demonstrating her strong understanding and involvement in the streaming industry.

Choi expressed her enthusiasm for joining OTT.X, stating that she looks forward to working alongside the team, board of directors, and members to propel the organization into its next chapter of growth. With the constantly changing landscape of the industry, Choi is eager to be a part of an organization that is paving the way for the future of media and digital distribution.

Choi succeeds Mark Fisher, who retired in May after a long and successful tenure as president and CEO. Fisher, who joined the organization in 1999 as VP of membership, oversaw the evolution of the association from supporting physical media to becoming a leading trade group for all forms of online video distribution.

Under Fisher’s leadership, the organization was rebranded as OTT.X in 2020, and he played a key role in developing cornerstone events such as the OTT.X Summit and X-Fronts. Fisher also led the expansion of the organization’s roundtables, salons, and online webinars, solidifying OTT.X as a key player in the streaming industry.

With Choi at the helm, OTT.X is poised for continued growth and success in the ever-evolving streaming landscape. Her vision and leadership will undoubtedly drive the organization forward, and her expertise will be invaluable to its members and the industry as a whole.

As the streaming industry continues to thrive, OTT.X remains at the forefront, guided by a strong and experienced leader in Hollie Choi. With her proven track record and passion for the industry, Choi is poised to lead the organization to even greater heights in the years to come.
